- Flaxseeds: Use whole seeds not ground, to avoid over-thickening.
- Cinnamon: Adds a mild warmth to balance the nutty taste.
- Honey: Raw honey works best but you can use any natural sweetener.
- Lemon: A little squeeze brightens up the flavor of the tea pot and cuts through the thickness of the flaxseed water.
Boil the Water
Pour 3 cups of water into a saucepan or tea pot and bring it to a boil.
Add Flaxseeds
Stir in 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds. Reduce the heat and let them simmer gently for about 10–12 minutes.
You’ll notice the water becoming slightly thicker as the seeds release their natural gel. That’s a good sign.
Flavor the Tea
Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the simmering tea for extra flavor.
Strain the Tea
Once done, turn off the heat and strain the liquid into cups. Discard the seeds.
Add Honey and Lemon
Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Taste and adjust to your preference.
Serve Warm
Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy immediately while it’s warm and comforting.
