- Flaxseeds: Use whole seeds not ground, to avoid over-thickening.
- Cinnamon: Adds a mild warmth to balance the nutty taste.
- Honey: Raw honey works best but you can use any natural sweetener.
- Lemon: A little squeeze brightens up the flavor of the tea pot and cuts through the thickness of the flaxseed water.
- Boil the Water
- Pour 3 cups of water into a saucepan or tea pot and bring it to a boil.
- Add Flaxseeds
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds. Reduce the heat and let them simmer gently for about 10–12 minutes.
- You’ll notice the water becoming slightly thicker as the seeds release their natural gel. That’s a good sign.
- Flavor the Tea
- Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the simmering tea for extra flavor.
- Strain the Tea
- Once done, turn off the heat and strain the liquid into cups. Discard the seeds.
- Add Honey and Lemon
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Taste and adjust to your preference.
- Serve Warm
- Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy immediately while it’s warm and comforting.
