Ingredients

  • Flaxseeds: Use whole seeds not ground, to avoid over-thickening.
  • Cinnamon: Adds a mild warmth to balance the nutty taste.
  • Honey: Raw honey works best but you can use any natural sweetener.
  • Lemon: A little squeeze brightens up the flavor of the tea pot and cuts through the thickness of the flaxseed water.

Instructions

  • Boil the Water
  • Pour 3 cups of water into a saucepan or tea pot and bring it to a boil.
  • Add Flaxseeds
  • Stir in 2 tablespoons of flaxseeds. Reduce the heat and let them simmer gently for about 10–12 minutes.
  • You’ll notice the water becoming slightly thicker as the seeds release their natural gel. That’s a good sign.
  • Flavor the Tea
  • Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the simmering tea for extra flavor.
  • Strain the Tea
  • Once done, turn off the heat and strain the liquid into cups. Discard the seeds.
  • Add Honey and Lemon
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Taste and adjust to your preference.
  • Serve Warm
  • Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy immediately while it’s warm and comforting.
